Staff Accountant

Tasks:

Prepare and maintain financial records, including ledgers, journals, invoices, and receipts.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Reconcile bank statements and calculate tax payments and returns.
Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management.
Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
Assist with budget preparation and forecast revenue and expenditure.
Perform month-end and year-end close processes.
Audit financial transactions and documents.
Support internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with financial and non-financial staff to streamline operations and improve financial performance.

Staff Accountant

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a staff accountant or relevant role in accounting.
Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
BSc/BA in accounting, finance, or relevant field.
Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
A commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process.
