Job Description
Vendor Management
Tasks:
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors while negotiating contracts to secure the most advantageous terms.
Evaluate and monitor contracts to ensure vendors comply with the terms and conditions of the agreement and to determine the need for changes.
Manage vendor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met, and service level agreements (SLAs) are adhered to.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and convey them to vendors.
Implement and manage a vendor onboarding process that includes performing due diligence and risk assessments.
Regularly conduct business reviews with vendors to measure performance against goals and discuss improvement strategies.
Handle the end-to-end vendor payment process, including invoicing, discrepancies, and payment queries.
Maintain a database of vendor information and manage documentation related to vendor contracts, proposals, and performance evaluations.
Work with legal and compliance to ensure all vendor engagements adhere to laws and regulations.
Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
Vendor Management
Qualifications:
Proven experience in vendor management or in a similar role overseeing supplier/vendor relations.
Strong understanding of contract negotiation and resource management.
Ability to analyze data and statistics for trends and patterns with an understanding of procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
Proficient in software related to supply chain management and vendor oversight.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Competence in problem-solving, team building, planning, and decision-making.
Knowledge of relevant legal requirements, regulations, and risk management.
Adept at working with multiple stakeholders across different levels of an organization.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Certification in procurement, supply chain management, or vendor management is highly advantageous.
