Video Editor

Tasks:

Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity.
Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film or video content.
Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects to enhance video production.
Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running of the final cut.
Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process on the project’s needs.
Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
Collaborate with directors, producers, and other members of the production team.
Create rough and final cuts for review and make revisions based on feedback received.
Manage and oversee all technical aspects of video recording and editing.
Archive video footage for future use and maintain an organized digital asset library.

Video Editor

Qualifications:

Proven work experience as a video editor with a strong portfolio.
Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut).
Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio.
Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing.
Creative mind and storytelling skills.
BA/BS degree in film studies, cinematography, or related field is a plus.
Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity.
